Billing India, Vol Biv

This 9-day Vol Biv trip will be lead by Debu Choudhury, our resident Himalayan expert.

Designed to be a more adventurous, this Vol Biv course will focus on landing out for bivvy adventures and continuing from there the next morning. We will do a couple of days of orientation flights on the front ridge and then start the camping out adventures, varying from 1 night and extending them to upto 3 nights out. Possible options would be 360, Dharamsala, Parashar Lake, Hobbitton, and some sites over the back; decided by Debu, based on pilot skill level and conditions.

This course is designed to give you an insight into the adventure and thrill of Vol Bivving. To make the most out of this course and the Himalayan landscape, you need to have flown with us in Billing before and be very comfortable with top landings in tricky conditions. For the vol-bivs, you will have to bring and fly with your own gear. Once you book, Debu will guide and recommend you on the best gear options.

We will all live, eat, sleep and breath paragliding for this time, flying XC every day and setting tasks to maximise the conditions of each day, and to push your flying ability within your comfort level.

As this trip is quite intense, we run it on a 1:3 guide to client ratio, and is priced at £1,400 for the 9 days.

All accomodation (beyond the vol biv nights) and retrieve/transport if required, to paid as per actuals.

Duration : 9 Days | Fees : £1,400

Trip Checklist

01.

Flying Kit

We assume that you will arrive with a functional paraglider, harness and reserve parachute, vario/gps.

We recommend you bring along your own trackers (Inreach / Spots). If you do not have a tracking device then let us know and we will provide one for you.

It is very cold at base, we recommend flying in thick down jackets, multiple layers and thick or ideally heated gloves. On the ground, days are warm and nights are quite chilly, so bring adequate warm gear.

If you want kit for the trip then we extend a loyalty discount code, use “escapecourse” in the voucher field.

02.

Insurance

It is essential that you have travel insurance which covers you in respect of the following :

1. Medical Treatment
2. Medical Repatriation
3. Search & Rescue by helicopter

We will hand out a central grab sheet form, where we would like all pilots to fill in their emergency contact details, insurance policy and contact numbers.

This grab sheet also mirrors all the Risk Acceptance sign offs that are a part of this document. Please give it a good read and make sure you understand and accept the risk involved.
